The second phase of the 140th Canton Fair opened in Guangzhou on October 23, 2026, with nearly 640,000 green, low-carbon products on display, representing 26.9% of all exhibits in this phase. Under the theme “Quality Home Life,” the exhibition brings together household goods, gifts and decorations, building materials, and furniture.
Participating companies are accelerating their shift toward greener materials and production processes, offering international buyers more options for sourcing home products. With green, low-carbon exhibits accounting for more than a quarter of the total, environmental considerations have a substantial presence in this phase of the fair.

For buyers, the immediate significance is the opportunity to compare a broad range of products presented as green and low-carbon. Materials and manufacturing processes could become a greater focus of supplier discussions alongside product quality. The practical value of those discussions will depend on how clearly exhibitors explain the environmental attributes of individual products and support their claims.
The exhibition figures demonstrate the scale of the offering, but they do not establish the extent of emissions reductions or indicate how strongly buyers will respond. The share of exhibits also should not be read as a measure of sales, orders, or wider market demand.
The next question is whether this emphasis on greener products translates into purchasing decisions and sustained changes in production. Buyer uptake and evidence of environmental performance would help show how far the materials and process changes highlighted at the fair can influence home-product sourcing.
